Vasilianna Karakatsani is a Greek qualified lawyer admitted before the court of Appeal and a member of Athens Bar Association, with extensive experience in both legal advisory and litigation. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’ s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Piraeus.
Throughout her career, she has advised prominent corporate clients and financial institutions on a broad range of complex and high-value projects. She has played a pivotal role in demanding M&A transactions and large-scale concession processes, where she has been responsible for legal due diligence, negotiations, and the drafting, review and execution of transactional documentation.
Vasilianna has also developed significant expertise in NPL portfolio transactions, advising on and managing the entire transaction lifecycle, from the preparation and negotiation of sale and purchase agreements and servicing agreements through to closing. Her expertise in this field is further complemented by her involvement in related litigation proceedings.
In addition, she has been involved in insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings, providing legal support to domestic and international clients, including the negotiation, drafting and execution of “pre-pack” rehabilitation agreements. She has also contributed to international legal guides, providing practical and up-to-date insights into the Greek insolvency and restructuring landscape.
