Melina Koumpou is a Greek-qualified lawyer and a member of the Athens Bar Association. She holds a Law degree from the Democritus University of Thrace, a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law from the University of Strasbourg, and an MSc in Law and Information & Communication Technologies from the University of Piraeus, where she focused on data protection and artificial intelligence. She is also a certified Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Melina has experience in legal research, regulatory compliance, and privacy advisory work, with a particular focus on data protection law, digital regulation, artificial intelligence, and human rights. She has collaborated with international and European partners on legal and policy projects and previously served as a Trainee Lawyer at the Legal Council of the State, Ministry of Finance.
At ALG, Melina advises pharmaceutical and life sciences clients across Europe and Switzerland on privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR compliance strategies, DPIAs, contractual assessments, international data transfers, marketing and medical affairs activities, and the implementation of data protection frameworks within highly regulated environments.
